Bringing MADDOCK Design’s Vision to Life with Sonae Arauco’s Innovus® Decorative Products
When Gavin Maddock from MADDOCK Design set out to create the interior fit-out for SAVA in Cape Town, the vision was to deliver a refined retail environment with a quiet sense of balance and timeless appeal.
Designed as a curated interiors boutique showcasing art, décor, and accessories, the space was carefully considered to reflect the quality and craftsmanship of the products on display. The dramatic triple-volume setting, surrounded by full-height glazing, required a material palette that would introduce warmth and texture while complementing the building’s contemporary architecture.
To bring this vision to life, Chobe from Sonae Arauco’s Innovus Decorative Products collection was selected. Chosen for its rich depth of colour, refined grain, and natural woodgrain texture, Chobe provided the ideal balance of elegance, warmth, and commercial durability.
The result is a sophisticated retail environment that feels contemporary, welcoming, and effortlessly timeless. The natural beauty of Chobe enhances the presentation of the curated product offering while elevating the overall customer experience.
This project demonstrates how thoughtful material selection and refined design can come together to create memorable retail spaces.
