Sonae Arauco Supports Galway Primary School’s “Classroom of the Future”
As part of Sonae Arauco South Africa’s 2026 Corporate Social Investment (CSI) and BBBEE initiatives, the company partnered with The Walking The Talk Foundation to help bring a transformative educational project to life at Galway Primary School in Germiston.
The initiative focused on the creation of a state-of-the-art “Classroom of the Future” language laboratory, designed to equip learners with the digital tools and resources needed to strengthen literacy, numeracy, and 21st-century skills.
Through this partnership, Sonae Arauco donated Innovus decorative products used to manufacture the desks and workstations for the new language lab. The contribution played an important role in creating a modern and functional learning environment where learners can engage with technology in a meaningful way.
The completed lab features:
- 45 computer stations
- Interactive smart board technology
- Language and numeracy software
- Virtual reality learning tools
- Full connectivity and educator support
Representatives from Sonae Arauco attended the official opening ceremony, where the company was honoured with a Bronze Certificate of Appreciation in recognition of its contribution to the project.
